Obituary of Joan Marie Cisek

Joan Marie Cisek, 90, of Madison, NJ passed away peacefully in her home on June 6, 2023 surrounded by her five loving children.

Born in Newark, Joan grew up in Maplewood and was a graduate of Columbia High School. She later moved to Madison where she resided for 60 years.

Joan worked at ExxonMobil in Florham Park as an Executive Secretary for 20 years and spoke fondly of that time.  Joan was a dedicated member of St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison, an avid walker and a passionate fan of Notre Dame football.

Joan was predeceased by Joseph Cisek, her loving husband of 55 years of marriage who passed away in 2017.  Joan is survived by her children Michael Cisek and his wife Jeni; Patricia Kalita and her husband Walter; Barbara Jones and her husband Chris; Stephen Cisek and Daniel Cisek and his husband Nicolas.  Joan is also survived by her sister Helen Anne Ax; her cherished six grandchildren Charlie, Ryan, Sean, Sam, Erin and Matthew; her nephew Rusty and nieces Julie and Beth.  Joan was predeceased by her beloved sister, Mary Ellen Caldwell and brother Albert.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 5-8pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison.  A Funeral Mass for Joan will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison.  (The Mass will be livestreamed on the Church's website: Livestream Mass - St. Vincent Martyr, Madison, NJ (svmnj.org). Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
