Obituary of William B. Elder

William B. Elder, 89, passed away on October 1, 2020 at Morris View Healthcare Center. He was born in East Orange, NJ, and lived in Glen Ridge, NJ, prior to moving to Belvidere, NJ, 15 years ago.
Bill graduated from Clifford Scott High School, East Orange in 1949. He worked for Russell E. Stevens Co., Bloomfield, NJ, as a Senior Vice President for 25 years until his retirement in 1992. During that time, he achieved his CPCU designation which is a prestigious designation within the insurance industry.
He was a member of the Maplewood Bible Chapel. William proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of Corporal.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Radia V. Elder and his loving children, John Elder and his wife, Cynthia Free, Knoxville, TN, Bill Elder, Hackettstown, NJ, Jerry Elder, Quakertown, PA, and Sharon Elder, Belvidere, NJ. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Bill Elder, Rea Campbell, Paige Elder, Nathan Elder, Rachael Elder and great-grandchildren, Emmet Campbell and Silas Campbell as well as his sister, Irene Rush. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Elsie Elder and his brothers, Harry Elder, Philip Elder and Bobby Elder.

A celebration of William’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Dangler Funeral Home, Morris Plains.
