Jean (Angerbauer) Doig was born in Morristown on October 14, 1928 to Gladys (Searles) and Francis A. Angerbauer. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1946, and then from Berkeley School. Jean married her high school sweetheart, John W. (“Ozzie”) Doig, in 1949. They bought a house in Morris Township, and lived there for 60 years. Jean and John had four children – Glenn, Jeffrey, Brian, and Nancy; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jean was a hospital volunteer; Cub Scout leader (three times); and Brownie leader. She was also a life-long member of the Morristown Methodist Church, as was her mother and grandmother; and was active in many capacities. Jean worked in the Morris School District for many years as a Teacher’s Assistant in Special Education, until her retirement in 1983. In 2012, Jean and John started a new life in Bristol Glen, a Methodist retirement community in Newton. Survivors include her devoted children, Glenn (JoAnn), of Tennessee, Jeffrey (Janet), of New Hampshire, and Nancy (John), of New Jersey; her cherished grandchildren, Staci (Landon), Lindsay, Britton, Ian, Cathie (Brian), Casey, and Tina; and her adored great-grandchildren, Carter and Piper Jo. Jean was predeceased by her dear son, Brian (Linda), in 2013, and her beloved husband in 2016. Jean lived a full life, but she was happiest when her beloved husband and precious family were all together. Funeral services are private for family only. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Jean may be made to: United Methodist Church of Morristown (www.morristownumc.org).
