Obituary of Barbara Ann Hernet

Barbara "Bubba" Hernet, 90, of Morristown passed away on February 8, 2022. Born in Orange to a Military family, Bubba moved around a great deal until she decided to reside in Morristown for the past 67 years. Bubba worked as a Lunch Room/Playground Aide for the Sussex Avenue School for 39 years, until she retired in 2008. She was also a devoted parishioner of Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church in Cedar Knolls. Bubba is survived by her children, Steven Hernet of Culleoka, TN, and Corinne Hernet, of Morristown. She is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline McGuckin, of Spring Lake; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Reintanz, of Palm Beach, FL; her grandchildren, Christin Morrison (David), Corey McCormack, Casey McCormack (Hannah), Brittany McCormack (Oscar); as well as a great-granddaughter, Kirstin. Bubba was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Hernet (1983), and her daughter, Susan McCormack (2017). Bubba loved feeding the birds, and spending time down the shore in Sea Girt and Manasquan. Most of all, she adored spending time with her family, especially her dogs. Visiting will be on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 9:30am-10:30am, with a Funeral Service at 10:30am, at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. (*Guests are respectfully requested to wear masks while indoors.) Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
