Obituary of Rev. Msgr. Charles J. Russo, Jr.

Msgr. Charles J. Russo, Jr. passed away at Sunrise of Randolph on May 15, 2018.

Born and raised in Morristown, Msgr. Russo graduated from Morristown High School in 1946 and earned his degree in Theology from Seton Hall University in 1956.

Msgr. Russo also attended Darlington Seminary in preparation for his ordination. He was ordained on May 29, 1965, and was a priest for the Diocese of Paterson for 53 years. Msgr. Russo was admitted to Honorary Prelate and was made Msgr. on August 12, 1993.

Msgr. Russo is survived by his dear sisters, Eleanor and Lucille; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Janis, Jean, Danny, Terry, Anthony, Joseph, Patricia, Robert, Michael, and Richard. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Charles J. Russo, Sr.; and his siblings, James, Rose, Josephine, Daniel, and Ida.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-9pm at St. Margaret’s Church, 6 Sussex Avenue, Morristown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 10:00am at the Church. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morris Township.
