Dear Katie and family,
I recently heard of Steve's passing at an industry tradeshow.
Steve and I both previously worked at EMD Chemicals.
All I can say is that I thoroughly enjoyed working with him.
Some people get it in life and business, and some don't. Steve got it.
I'll truly miss catching up with him at the tradeshows and talking about life in general.

Katie,
My deepest condolences to you and the boys and whole extended family.
I worked with Steve at EMD Chemicals and have run into him at industry events as recent as this year.
I’m absolutely speechless and devastated having just heard about his passing through another prior colleague. It is a true testament to his character and work ethic and love for his family and respect for his coworkers, that he never complained or made public what he must have been going through. Unbelievable. I’ll miss his kindness and whit and speaking to him at industry events. He always was proud of his family and spoke of you all. Sincerely, Andy Flaherty

Hi Katie. I knew Steve when he worked at EMD in 2006-2009. We always laughed together, he was a great guy. I always enjoyed his company and we shared the same sense of humor. I’m so sorry he’s gone and I hope you can find some comfort in knowing how many people he touched.

Dear Steve's family. I was like to give my condolences to you all. Steve was a wonderful man and will be missed dearly. Not only have I lost a colleague but a Dear friend. I have known Steve from work when he started working for SE Tylose. We meet many times during the international conference and meetings. You may know me as the girl from London who sent the nice chocolates.
For me Steve was very special as he had a special sense humour which I loved because even when it was tough at work he knew what to say to make it right. One of my favourite conversations was about the films in the 1980's. How much we loved them. The last time I meet Steve was in Wiesbaden and I made him a chicken curry in our food lab and he said to me it was great and wanted the recipe.
I can't make it today to show my respects and say my last good bye but my thoughts are with you all.

Katie,
I am Whitney Robina's mom and I had met Steve at several sporting events in Morris Plains. I was always hounding people to buy 50/50 tickets at the swim meets and Steve was always one of the few who immediately opened his wallet and provided such a kind smile. He touched so many lives even in such small ways as this. I will continue to shower the heavens in prayer for you, Aiden and Kieran.

I am devastated beyond words. Although I haven't seen Steve in many years, I speak about him often. He was one of my first students when I moved to NJ and took a position as Social Studies teacher at Sparta Middle School. He and his friend Chris F. made me happy every day that I decided to become a teacher. Several years later at the Rockaway Mall, I was trying to figure out how to get to my car, with an infant in a stroller, during a drenching thunderstorm. All of sudden they appeared and offered to get my car for me...of course neither one had their license yet! They watched my baby as I ran to get my car. I remember telling my husband what an amazing kid Steve was and that he was one of the reasons I loved going to work. He was special... I send my prayers to his family and friends.
