I was so sorry to learn of Clare’s through the Tower Tidings. We worked together when I was an assistant pastor at the Morristown church in the early 80’s. Clare was a woman of grace, humor, intelligence, wisdom and love. I felt privileged working with her and learned so much from her. I had been the first female ordained pastor the church had called, and the road was not always easy. I made plenty of mistakes, and she became a listening ear and a guiding light. She was also a lot of fun! When I left the church Clare wrote me a card with a sentiment so special to me that I framed it and have it still to this day. She was an unforgettable woman and I feel blessed for having known her. May God’s peace be with you all.
