Grief Resources

The death of someone we care about can be one of the most difficult experiences of life. Words seem inadequate to describe how painful the grief we feel can be. It is often much more challenging than we expect and than others seem to think.

The Grief Recovery Method® Grief Support Group

Grieving is the most normal and natural response to a loss, but it is the most misunderstood experience. Society wants us to deal with loss as an intellectual response. That is why unresolved grief can have a lasting impact on a person’s happiness. Grief is an emotional response to a loss. People say you have to let go and move on in your life, but they don’t tell you what you need to do to accomplish that. The Grief Recovery Method®: Grief Support Group not only makes that possible, but provides guidance and the tools to ensure that it happens. After your loss, you may have wished that some things had been different, better or more. There were hopes, dreams and expectations that now will never come to pass. The intention of the Grief Recovery Method® will help you discover what was emotionally left incomplete. If you are willing to make a commitment of time and some work, you will recover and move beyond your grief. Dangler Funeral Home, Inc. and Burroughs, Kohr and Dangler Funeral Home, Inc. offer this 8 week program free of charge. The sessions begin in March and September. The program uses materials from The Grief Recovery Institute, Sherman Oaks, California.
