Obituary of John F Hooper

John “Jack” F. Hooper, 83, of Morris Plains, NJ, passed away on February 17, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center. Born and raised in West Orange, Jack resided in Edison before moving to Morris Plains 46 years ago. He graduated from Seton Hall Prep, and earned a degree in Business Administration from Seton Hall University. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Jack worked as a Sales Manager for the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company before he retired. He was a member of St. Virgil’s Church in Morris Plains, Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Morris County, VFW Post #3401, Knights of Columbus, and was a Past President of the Glen Ridge Rotary Club. Jack was an avid golfer and enjoyed participating in many of each groups annual golf outings. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Pauline J. Hooper; and his devoted children, Karen Clayton, and her husband, Jim, of Louisville, KY, Cheryl Higinbotham, and her husband, Jonathan, of Chester, NJ, Lynn Wrede, and her husband, Tim, of Andover, NJ, and John F. Hooper, and his wife, Janine Myer, of Randolph, NJ. He is also survived by his beloved brother, William Hooper, and his wife, Millie, of West Orange, NJ; his cherished grandchildren, Christopher Mondello, Tara and Ross Wojcik, Erin Clayton, Megan and Gerry Gallo, Shawn Wrede, Kelly Clayton, Andrew Wrede, and Grace Higinbotham, as well as his adored great-granddaughter, Ella Clayton; and his four nieces and two nephews. Jack was predeceased by his parents, John F. Hooper, Sr. and Irene Hooper; his daughter, Denise Hooper; and his sister, Margaret Hooper. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Sunday, February 21, 2016, from 2-6pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ. A Funeral Mass for Jack will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Virgil’s Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
