Obituary of Hamilton Ham Turner

Hamilton “Ham” Turner, 92 years old, passed away at home on March 20, 2016 with his loving family beside him. He was born in Brighton, NY. He lived in West Orange, NJ prior to moving to Florham Park, NJ where he lived for 55 years. Mr. Turner was a Yeoman 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy and served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946. He worked as a sales manager for Automatic Switch, Florham Park, NJ for 30 years until his retirement in 1985. After his retirement, he became a partner in the family business, Afton Florist. He was a member of the Florham Park Business Association and the Florham Park Elks. Mr. Turner is survived by his son, Chuck Turner and wife, Patty, his daughter, Cindy Gatto, and husband, Mike. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Charlie and Christina Turner, and TJ Gatto. He was predeceased by his wife, Rachel, in 2014. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Monday, March 28, 2016, from 5-8 pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison, NJ 07940. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 11:00 am at Grace Episcopal Church, 4 Madison Ave., Madison, NJ 07940. Interment will be at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ. Donations in Mr. Turner’s memory may be made to the Florham Park Rescue Squad, 64 Felch Road, Florham Park, NJ 07932.
