Obituary of Deacon Gary N Gordon

Deacon Gary N. Gordon of Morris Plains passed away on April 5th at Morristown Medical Center. He was 78. Born in Teaneck, NJ, Deacon Gary lived in Dover before moving to Morris Plains nearly fifty years ago. He was a graduate of Dover High School (1955) and Rutgers College of Pharmacy (1959). He was employed as a pharmacist at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital until his retirement in 1991. Deacon Gary was ordained to the diaconate in Paterson by Bishop Frank J. Rodimer in 1999. He served as a Deacon at Sacred Heart church in Dover and St. Virgil's church in Morris Plains before being assigned to Morristown Medical Center where he spent thirteen years in hospital ministry. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Rosalita Gordon , a son, John, of Escondido, CA, a daughter, Terry, of South Glen's Falls, NY, a son, James, of Livingston, NJ, a son, Phil of Staten Island, NY, ten grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visiting for Deacon Gary will be on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 4-8pm at St. Virgil’s Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Virgil’s Church. Entombment will follow at Holy Rood Mausoleum, Morris Township. Arrangements were under the care of Dangler Funeral Home, Morris Plains.
