Obituary of Timothy S Long

Timothy “Tim” Long, 59, formerly of Morristown, more recently of Hopatcong, passed away on April 18, 2016. Tim graduated from Bayley Ellard High School, and earned his B.A. Degree from Seton Hall University in 1980. He worked in Sales for most of his life. Tim was a member of Assumption Church in Morristown. Tim had a passion for photography, baseball, family and friends along with an enthusiasm for life. For many years, he was happy to have the opportunity to be a volunteer coach for many youth baseball leagues, up through high school. He influenced the lives of many people. His love of life, sense of humor, and talent for talk allowed him to be loved by many. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his strength and determination – An inspiration for all. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Joan, “JJ” Long; and his devoted sons, Lindsey, and Nicholas, and his dear daughter, Erin. He is also survived by his beloved siblings, Michael, Debbie, Beth Ann, Delbert, Gregory, Dennis, Susan, and John; as well as his 28 cherished nieces and nephews. Tim was predeceased by his sister, Kathy. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 4-8pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Mass for Tim will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 9:30am at Assumption Church, 94 Maple Avenue, Morristown. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morris Township. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Tim may be made to: National Brain Tumor Society (http://braintumor.org/).
