Obituary of Joseph C Polise

Joseph Polise, 86, of Morris Plains passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 22, 2016. Born and raised in Madison, Joe lived in Morris Plains for the last 63 years. Joe graduated from Madison High School in 1948. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. As Chemical Technician for Celanese Corporation for 40 years, Joe was granted four patents for his inventions. He retired in 1992. Joe was a lifetime exempt member of the Fairchild Fire Company, where he had served as Captain. He was also a volunteer for Operation Appalachia through Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church; and a Coach for Denville Little League. In addition to these volunteer activities, Joe also loved gardening, golf, playing Bocce with his brothers, and supporting his grandchildren in all their athletic and academic endeavors. Joe is survived by his devoted daughters, Debra White and Dick of Cedar Knolls, Sandra Williams and Bill of Boca Raton, Fla, Dawn Harris and Bill of Denville, and Tracy Clevenger and Chris of Roxbury. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Brett and Chad Williams, Kelsey and Mark Harris, Sydney, Jack and Kayla Clevenger; and his grand-dogs Kaylee, Koko and Bailey; as well as his beloved brothers, Ralph and Ceasar Polise; his dear sister Barbara Murphy; and many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his brothers, Louis and Ciery Polise, and his sisters, Ann Fiore and Carmela Krauel. Joe has been reunited with the love of his life, his beloved wife, Mary. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 4-8pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Mass for Joseph will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 10:00am at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church, 75 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
