Obituary of Kenneth R Hacker

Kenneth (“Kenny”) R. Hacker, 65, of Morris Plains passed away at Morristown Medical Center on May 30, 2016 after a long illness. Born in Paterson, Kenny resided in Parsippany before moving to Morris Plains 23 years ago. Kenny graduated from Kinnelon High School in 1968. Kenny proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as an SP4-E4 during the Vietnam War. He then went on to earn his A.S. degree in Applied Science from the County College of Morris in 1980. Kenny worked as a Verizon Repair Clerk in Livingston for 44 years, before retiring in 2014. He was also a member of the NHRA and the NRA. Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Hacker, of Morris Plains; and his devoted daughters, Caitlin Parenteau, and her husband, Raymond, Jr., of Newton, and Emily Hacker, of Morris Plains. He is also survived by his sisters, Valerie Mooney, and her husband, William, of Gettysburg, PA, and Pamela Hacker, and her husband, Glenn Struck, of Clifton; as well as his niece, Kathleen Melendez, and nephew, Michael Mooney. Kenny was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Doris Hacker. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 1-3pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Memorial Service for Kenny will be held, following the visitation, at 3pm at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
