Obituary of Herbert W Miller

Herbert William Miller, 85, of Morris Township, passed away on June 5, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center. Born in Jersey City, Herbert resided in Morris Township for 48 years. Herbert graduated from Snyder High School in Jersey City. Herbert proudly served his country in the U.S. Airforce as A/1C (SAC – Strategic Air Command) during the Korean War. He earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration from St. Peter’s University in 1960. Following his retirement from Allied Chemical, Herbert was President of Futura Marine Services. He was also a member of St. Virgil’s Church; and was Past President of the Township of Morris Senior Citizen Club. Herbert is survived by his loving wife, Carol Saunders Miller; and his devoted children, Marilyn Miller-O’Melia, and her husband, John, of Basking Ridge, Kathleen White, and her husband, Jerry, of Roswell, GA, Richard Miller, and his wife, Susan, of Mt. Olive, Dolores Houser, and her husband, Philip, of Morris Township, Barbara Miller, and her husband, Jeff Cromie, of Morris Township, and Theresa Vinci, and her husband, Michael, Jr., of Sewell. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Kate and Mike Alves, Doug O’Melia, Erin and Matthew White, Jennifer, Kevin, and Lauren Miller, Ryan and Sarah Houser, Kelsey and Thomas Cromie, and Michael, III and Shannon Vinci. Herbert was predeceased by his sisters, Frances Gilson and Lucille Sugzda, and his brother-in-law, Charles Saunders . Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Mass for Herbert will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 10:30am at St. Virgil’s Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. Interment will be private.
