Obituary of Carter Blankenship

Carter Blankenship, 78, of Long Valley, N.J., passed away peacefully at home on September 10, 2016. Carter was born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. to Leslie Blankenship and Leah Wolven Blankenship (both predeceased), and lived in Long Valley for nearly 40 years. He had a lifetime career in sales, and worked for Flemington Department store until his retirement. Carter was predeceased by his brothers Leslie Blankenship Jr. and Cary Blankenship. Carter is survived by his loving wife, Adrienne; his children, Buck Blankenship, Darin Blankenship and wife Ann, Melissa Blankenship Conklin and husband Kevin; his brother Earl Blankenship and sister Charlotte Blankenship Harmon; his grandchildren, Carly Conklin and Henry Conklin; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 25, 2016 from 3-7PM at the Schooley's Mountain Lodge, 54 Camp Washington Road, Washington Township/Long Valley, N.J. 07853. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carter's name to the Washington Township Police Department, Long Valley, N.J. and the Long Valley First Aid Squad. Arrangements were under the care of Dangler Funeral Home, Morris Plains.
