Obituary of Florence C. Romano

Florence C. Romano, 89, of Brookside, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 24, 2016. Born in New York City, NY, Florence resided in Morris Plains before moving to Brookside 32 years ago. Florence graduated from Julia Richman High School in 1946. She was a parishioner of Resurrection Parish in Randolph, where she was an active member of the Ladies of Faith. Florence is survived by her devoted children, Vincent and Elaine Romano, Jr., of Green Township, NJ, Linda Romano and Paul Klapp, of Bigfork, MT, Marianne and Peter Elia, of Brookside, NJ, Diane Romano, of Brookside, NJ, and Nancy and Anthony Elia, of Flanders, NJ. She is also survived by her beloved brother, Robert Cattuna, of Secaucus, NJ, and her cherished grandchildren, Peter Elia, Tara DiDomenico, Leigh Ann DiDomenico, Joanna and Joel Carriero, Michael McCluskey, Matthew McCluskey, Michael Vincent Romano, Nicole Elia, Alexis McCluskey, Anthony Elia, Rebecca Leitch, and Hughey McCluskey; as well as her two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Florence is predeceased by her husband, Vincent J. Romano, Sr., and her siblings, Anthony Cattuna, Louis Cattuna, and Theresa Bitecola. Family and friends can gather on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 9:30am – 10:00am at Resurrection Parish, 651 Millbrook Avenue, Randolph. A Funeral Mass for Florence will immediately follow at 10:30am at the Church. Interment will be at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Florence may be made to: Compassionate Care Hospice, or Mendham Township Rescue Squad. Arrangements were under the care of Dangler Funeral Home, Morris Plains.
