Obituary of Douglas Jay Ritter

Douglas Jay Ritter of New Vernon, NJ died at age 47 after a valiant, year-long struggle with cancer. He is survived by his mother, Isobel Olcott, father Martin Ritter and sister Emily Ritter. He is also survived by his stepfather Jack Olcott, three stepbrothers, several nieces and nephews and a stepmother. Mr. Ritter was a 1988 graduate of Madison High School. He attended the University of Massachusetts and Rutgers University. He also received certification in commercial and industrial wiring from Morris County School of Technology. A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held on January 7, 2017 from 2-4 PM at Fellowship Hall, First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon on Lee's Hill Road in New Vernon. Contributions to the Carol Simon Cancer Center at the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center, 475 South Street, Morristown, NJ 07960 would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are under the care of Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, Madison, NJ.
