Obituary of Lois M. Trevena

Lois M Trevena, 88, of Morristown, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2016 after a brief stay at Care One Madison. She graduated from Bailey Ellard High School and the College of St. Elizabeth. Lois worked in a number of different capacities for the Township of Morris before retiring in July 1995. Lois enjoyed many passions including traveling the world and vacationing at the Jersey shore, but most important was spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her four children, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. No matter the path her children chose, Lois was supportive and encouraging -- always wanting the best for her children and their families. She was predeceased in death by her husband Robert E. Trevena at age 50 in 1972 and is survived by her four children, Kathy Tracey and her husband Tim; Robert and his wife Linda; James and his wife Laura; and John and his wife Maryann, and a brother Arthur McCune and his wife Norrine of South Bend, IN. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, December 28 from 3 - 6 pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison, NJ. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Lois’ life will held at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 234 Southern Blvd, Chatham Township, NJ on Thursday, December 29 at 10 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ascend Hospice at 65 Jackson Drive Suite 103, Cranford, NJ 07016 who passionately cared for Lois in the final phase of her life.
