Susan and I are so sorry for your loss. Our hearts go out to Bill and her family and we are sharing in your sadness as we remember Colleen. She was a remarkable person with a passion for all students and a leader/mentor for many educators. Her advice, personal example and fun-loving nature influenced our career decisions in more ways than can be counted. Colleen will be missed, but there will be some smiles as we remember the life of such a giving person.

I worked with Colleen for a number of years at Liberty Street. She was such a kind person and so full of life. Her sense of humor was delightful and she helped make our work days enjoyable. She will be missed by so many people. My condolences to you Bill and all of your family. It is hard to imagine the world without her presence.

Colleen was a long-time friend who, over the years, has had a strong impact on me and on my family. We met in 1958 while in the novitiate of the Sisters of Charity.
After leaving the convent, we remained friends and that friendship evolved. In 1969 Bill and she introduced me to my future husband Ed Byrne . Through the years the friendship remained and continued to evolve despite our many different physical locations.
Colleen loved life, laughter, singing. dancing, entertaining, learning, teaching, leading. family, friends and especially her husband Bill. Her very last words to me were “I’ll see you again soon in heaven.” Until we meet again dear Colleen!

Uncle Bill, the memories come flooding back. Visiting you and Aunt Coleen in Syracuse as kids and Aunt Colleen teaching us to putt on your green in the backyard. All the visits in Monroe and years later every time we saw her spending a lot of time with my kids and being so interested in their grades and futures. She will always have a special place in our hearts. Love, Billy

Our deepest sympathy to Bill and to Colleen's family. Colleen was principal for our children in elementary school 30 + years ago. We stayed in touch and visited several times in Naples. She loved hearing all about what our kids were doing in college, in their professions and the birth of their children. We loved her. We will never forget her genuine smile and infectious laugh. Colleen thanks for keeping our children under your watchful eye during their elementary school years and beyond. We miss you already. Rest in Eternal Peace.

Colleen and I became friends in 1957 when we were on vacation with our families in Rockaway Beach, NY. Little did I know then that she would become my future sister-in-law and provide her with two loving nieces and two loving nephews who adored her. She was a wonderful aunt to them all, always fun-loving, kind and generous. May you rest in peace, Colleen, and God hold you in the palm of His hand. Will love and miss you always!

Dear Aunt Colleen, We love you so much and will miss you forever. The caring times, silly times, difficult times and so many fun times we've had with you and Bill over the many years has made our lives so much better. We will forever keep making your meatballs and spinach dip that you so diligently prepared at the Monroe Christmas parties. We know you are in a beautiful place where there is no more pain or suffering. We pray you are having a Scotch with Grandma, Grandpa and Dad singing the twelve days of Christmas.
Dear Uncle Bill, We are so very sorry and know that you are heartbroken and life is changing dramatically for you. You are Aunt Colleen's true love and the beauty of your lives together can't be explained in a few simple words. We are here for you and love you very much.
Love Bob Judy and Tommy
