Obituary of Natalie Allen

Natalie Allen ,88, of Davie, Florida passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019.

Natalie was born on January 22, 1931 in Providence, Rhode Island.  

On January 31, 1954 she married Jarvis Joseph Allen.  They were married for 65 years and had four children; Richard, Susan, David and Melissa.

Natalie was a devoted mother.   Though in 1969 after losing her son David, life was challenging at times.  She often described losing a child felt like she had lost a limb and the phantom pain never subsided.  

Natalie loved music, Frank Sinatra being her favorite.  She loved to sing along with "Frank" and dance.  Baseball was another favorite as was art and politics.  She also had a wonderful sense of humor.

May her memory forever be a blessing.  She is with her son David now. 

Natalie is survived by her devoted husband Jarvis, of Davie, Florida.  She is also survived by her children; Richard Allen, and his wife Gloria, of Morristown, NJ, Susan Emerson, of Springfield, NJ and Melissa Diven, and her husband John, of Keene, NH, grandchildren; Laura, Melanie, Noah , Marshall, Lindsay and Phoebe; and great grandchildren; Ezra and Netaniel.

There will be a graveside burial at Beth Israel Cemetery in Cedar Knolls, NJ.  Shiva will be observed on Thursday after the burial in Springfield,NJ and Friday in Morristown, NJ. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
