Obituary of Eugene J. Garley
Eugene "Gene" Garley, age 76, passed away on July 1, 2019 in Auburndale, Florida.
Gene was born on January 13, 1943 in Hackensack, New Jersey to Walter and Doris Garley. He resided in Whitehouse Station, NJ for 20 years before moving to Auburndale, Florida.
Gene graduated fom Henry Snyder High School in 1960 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy (ETR3) during the Cuban Missle Crisis.
Gene worked as a System Analyst for AT&T in Bedminster, New Jersey for over 30 years, until he retired in 1997.
Gene was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the American Legion, both in Winter Haven, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Geraldine. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Nora Garley; and devoted daughters, Kimberly (Eric) Studer of New Jersey, Patricia (James) Karnes of Arizona, Danielle Garley of New York, and Christina (George) Scheier of New Jersey. He is also survived by his beloved brother, Keith (Donna) Garley of New York, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Abigail, Emma, Molly, Holly, Matilda, and Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 11:00am-12:30pm, with a Celebration of Life at 12:30pm, at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Aveue, Morris Plains.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Gene may be made to: American Lung Association (www.lung.org).
