While trying to find Rita, I came across Marie's obituary. The memories soon began to rush in and flood my mind with those most early years of my life: growing up in a wonderfully simpler time, the Pennucci's were our next door neighbors...the glorious and lush garden - filled with the various colors of flowers, the promise of fresh vegetables, the multi-grafted pear tree, the abundant cherry as well as our shared peach tree, which bordered both properties. Rita was my first love and we played often - either in her magical yard or inside her grandfather's shed. I rarely saw the inside of their lofty apartment, but would on occasion see Marie high atop the winding staircase. To me, she was a most elegant and lovely woman. I remember so fondly those far gone years and the days when we had Life was filled with dreams and hope...and the security of having our parents to protect us. I wish her peace...

Marie was one special lady. I once told Tony and Marie that if I was given the opportunity to pick my parents I would have picked them as they treated me like family.. Of course that is easy to say but I meant it. They were both good friends and mentors. I loved them both dearly. I know that Marie will wake in the place we all hope to abide in after this life. Where the sun always shines, the birds always sing and there is no pain or suffering. May the Good Lord hold her family in the palm of his hand during these darkest of hours but take consolation in the realization that Marie is in a better place. God Bless and take good care.Woody
