Obituary of Jean M Ryan
DEVOTED WIFE, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, GREAT-GRANDMOTHER & GREAT-GREAT-GRANDMOTHER
Jean (nee Murray) Ryan, 92, of Morris Plains passed away on November 17, 2019.
Born in Jersey City, Jean resided in Lyndhurst for 27 years before moving to Morris Plains four years ago.
Jean was a child of the Great Depression and a young mother during WWII whose husband was fighting in the Pacific while she was caring for her first child. Her experiences, the hardships she endured and overcame, and the love she was privileged to enjoy shaped the woman she became. The unconditional love she shared with her husband has been a shining example to everyone who knew "Jean and Johnny". She was fearless and not troubled by others' opinions. She held to her strong convictions and was not shy about sharing them! Her strength came from her deep faith in God and the power of prayer. Above all, she loved her family and inspired us with her strength and fierce independence. The family would like to thank Angi for the loving care she provided for our Mother.
Jean is survived by her devoted children, Thomas (Lynn), Dolores Mullen, Elaine (Harry) Reicherz, Robert, Diane (Michael) London, Donna (Victor) DeCarlo, and Glenn (Nora). She is also survived by her 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her parents, John F. and Gertrude (Nee Hill) Murray; her husband, John E. Ryan (2009); her children, John E. Ryan and Christine (Frank) Siclari; and her siblings, Marguerite Airel, Joseph Murray, Maureen Flynn, Kathleen Stubaus, and Teresa Barausky.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 3-8pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains.
