I remember coming over to her house in New Vernon when she was married to King Irwin and playing with her daughter Lydia Irwin. My mother Julia Averett peet was a very good friend with Mrs Irwin and would always enjoy her company and coming over and swimming in her pool. They would go into New York together for various activities. I remember delivering cow manure for her garden. My condolences to the whole family. Clint Averett

To the family of Barbara,
I count it a great privledge to have met your mother. Though we did not know each other well, she is one of two people I count as extraordinary. She was generous, kind and totally unselfish in her concerns for others. "Well done Barbie". I am sure the stars spelled out your name the day you left those of us who knew and loved you. Rest well, you'll always live in our hearts.
Sincerely, Judith Haraszti North Carolina

Dear Karen and Tim,
Your family and ours have had a sad Christmas time, haven't we -- our mothers having passed away a few days apart! We sure do send our love to you all. I always remember your family's caroling parties when we would start off practicing around your piano (featuring Karen's gorgeous voice) and then proceeding onto the "sleigh" to visit friends in the countryside. Our Moms were the best. May they be carrying on together in Heaven as fondly as they did in New Vernon. - Pammy

Barbie was a good friend for fifty or so years. We enjoyed staying with her when we were in the area for dog shows. She contributed so much to so many and we will always remember her spirit and kindness ...she was one of a kind and will be missed by her many friends. Our sympathy to her family.
