I got to know Billy while coaching our daughters in Morris Plains softball. When the girls were out in the field Billy and I would spend time talking about music (when we probably should have been worrying about the defensive alignment of the girls on the field!).
Billy explained to me the finer points of the Blues and extolled the virtues of Buddy Guy, BB King, Muddy Waters, and of course, his favorite, Robert Cray. He loved taking Cody and Cheyenne to concerts.
Billy was a great coach, a great dad, and great citizen of Morris Plains. He will be missed.
Billy, I hope 'the blues is alive and well' up in heaven. God Bless,
John Verga

I met Billy while our kids were waiting for the school bus.....he and Sheila were always so sweet together. They taught their kids to be polite and respectful and Billy always called me "Miss Eileen". After Sheila passed, Billy did everything within his power to be the best father possible for Cody and Cheyenne. Cody wanted to attend the Junior Police Academy in 2018, but Billy had to work....so he stopped by my house and asked if we could take care of transportation.....and we did! We were pleasantly surprised to be invited to the graduation ceremony and witness how proud Billy was of his son. Love this family, and am so sorry to know what they have been through....God bless Billy and God bless his kids.

My favorite memory of Billy is that we were passing time coaching one of Cheyenne's games by having one person name a sport and another name a movie about the sport. I thought I had him when I gave him "cricket movie." Without missing a beat he said "Pinocchio." Game, set and match to Billy. It's typical that this happened while he was spending three hours standing in a dugout to spend time with Cheyenne. He was a good friend and a great dad.
