Judy and Bob Benford posted a condolence

Judy and Bob Benford each shared treasured times with Mark, mostly at work but sometimes afterwards, too. We remember his steady, consistent, caring demeanor and his unique sense of humor. Always pleasant and helpful. We saw him last at our summer picnic and will keep those wonderful times fresh in our memories. We send our condolences to Marilyn and Marks's siblings, children, and grandkids. Knowledgable in many matters and much appreciated by his past coworkers. He ll live on at work through his timeless "10 steps to success" and cleaning everything within an easy spray-radius with a spritz of windex and a paper towel, crisply snapped from a seemingly bottomless stack ! Rest in well-deserved peace, you salty ole tin can sailor ! Fair winds and following seas. J n B.

So sad to hear of Mark's passing from a former colleague at Schindler. It was a pleasure to sit and talk with Mark off and on through the years, knowing how he was dedicated in his personal life just as he did his work life. A great and humble person and engineer, who we will look back upon fondly. I will always remember his laugh too :)

I had never met Mark in person but spoke with him many times on the phone for help at work. He was the kind of guy who always wanted to make you smarter and would go out of his way to teach you with every chance he could. He will be missed by his Schindler family in pittsburgh.

Mark was the consummate engineer and a colleague of many interests. I always enjoyed our conversations about those topics, particularly his movie reviews. He was a kind and giving soul. My condolences to the Heckler family

I was fortunate enough to have worked with Mark for many years. We partnered together on dozens of projects, and he always provided me with valuable learnings and insight. He was great teacher and colleague. On a personal note, he often spoke lovingly of his family, his planned trips - and the next movie that he and Marilyn planned to see. I extend my deepest sympathy to Mark’s family and friends. He is gone too soon.
