Obituary of June L. Davey

June Lenore Davey, 88, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Newark, NJ, and lived in Hanover Township for the past 60 years. June graduated from Caldwell College, Caldwell, NJ, in 1949 with a degree in English and completed her post graduate work at Fordham University, Bronx, NY. She worked as an elementary school English and Math teacher for St. Virgil’s School, Morris Plains, for over 30 years until her retirement in 2000. She was an active member of the Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church, Cedar Knolls, where she was a choir member and served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, CCD teacher and in various other ministries. She is survived by her children, Daniel Davey and his wife, Becky, Lynchburg, VA, David Davey and his wife, Robin, Landing, NJ, Dennis Davey, Morris Plains, Loree Frye and her husband, Jim, Harding, NJ, Debbie Bell and her husband, Jon, Morris Plains, Denise Zalis and her husband, Lee, Chatham Township, NJ, Christopher Davey and Debbie Signore, Needham, MA, and Greg Davey and his wife, Vicky, Whippany, NJ. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Dan and Heather Davey, Kristen and Bill Yanette, Jennifer and Adam Lozano, Lisa Davey, Bryan Davey, Sean Davey, Jimmy DeFilippis, Jackie DeFilippis, Meredith and Jack Taylor, Jonny Bell, Chris Zalis, Ryan Zalis, Emily Zalis, Kyle Davey, Connor Davey, Nicole Davey, Antonio Davey, Montana Davey, and Jordan Davey as well as great-grandchildren, Aidan Davey, Billy Yanette, Ava Yanette, Brent Davey and many nieces and nephews. June was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Clifford J. Davey in 2002. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Monday, January 30, 2017, at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave, Morris Plains, NJ 07950 from 4-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 10:00 am at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church, Cedar Knolls, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown, NJ.
