Obituary of Joyce E. Buchanan

Joyce Elizabeth Buchanan passed away on the morning on March 3, 2020. Joyce grew up in Rutherford, NJ and spent the majority of her life living with her family in Madison, NJ, where she was very active in Scouts and her church. She had a fulfilling career in software development at Bell Labs, both before and after taking time off to care for her children when they were young. She was predeceased by her husband, Denis, in 2014 and is survived by her three children and their spouses: Barbara (and Russ) Jacoby, Rich (and Dawn) Buchanan, and Joan (and Bill) Goddard, her six grandchildren and their spouses: Christopher Jacoby and Zoelle Egner, Matthew Jacoby, Ethan Goddard, Kimberly (Goddard) and Ryan Dupuis, Bryan Buchanan, and Kate Buchanan, and her brother and his wife, Ted and Wini Conant. The family will have a celebration of Joyce's life on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in New Providence, NJ, followed by greetings with the family and light refreshments. The family requests you wear red, which was Joyce's favorite color.
