Obituary of Joseph R. Kelly

Joseph R. Kelly, 87, of Madison, passed away April 16, 2020 at Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center. Joe was born in Newark, NJ to Frank and Mary Kelly. He graduated from St. James High School in Newark. Joe lived in Newark before moving to Chatham with his wife, Agnes (neé McPadden) Kelly, where they resided for over 30 years and then to Madison 3 years ago. Joe was in the Navy. Before his retirement, Joe was an Inside Sales Representative for State Electronics in East Hanover, NJ. He then moved on to work at Honeywell in Morristown, NJ. Joe was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church for many years while he lived in Chatham. While he lived in Madison, Joe was a parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Agnes Kelly, his devoted sister, Kathleen Miller, many cherished nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Joe is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mary Kelly, and his siblings, Maureen Logan, John Kelly, Patricia Ward, Eileen Devaney, Sheila Basil and Denis Kelly. A private burial was held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 12 noon at St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison, NJ.
