Dear Gary and family, I worked with Pat for 18 years and she was my first supervisor. I consider her not only a wonderful colleague but a friend. In many ways she was an unsung hero in our department. She was always there with such calm when we needed a million things done to complete our grants. I know she was there for many others who needed her support. We also talked many times about the great joy of grandparenthood. Pat always showed us the latest beautiful pictures of her granddaughter with such pride. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend the services as I will be helping my mother in RI.
