Laura entered Baldwin at a time when many of us were caught up in our busy lives. I regret that I never got to know Laura well, but memories of her conjure up a quiet, kind and thoughtful young woman; she had a peaceful aura about her. We did reconnect at a reunion about ten+ years ago, and I remember feeling grateful for the opportunity to catch up with Laura on her life's work. It sounds from her obituary that hers was a life well-lived. Rest in peace, Laura.

From barbara Hinnant Mantore: Laura was a dear friend and neighbor. We met in 1987 and enjoyed many times together. We loved Merchant ivory movies and along with Eileen Clark, travelled to England and Scotland and spent many new year’s eves toasting to the new year. To Laura, a good and loyal friend. You are missed.

I met Laura in the mid 70s through the Medical Library Association. At the time we were both young medical audiovisual librarians. She was an incredibly generous colleague. Over the years I would call her for advice, and she was always patient and thorough in her responses.
We became friends as well as colleagues, spending time together at the Stratford Festival and the Shaw Festival in Canada. A group of us enjoyed each others’ company as we “binged” on plays, went dining and shopping, and generally had a marvelous time for many summers.
Laura was thoughtful and kind with a delicious sense of humor. I was proud to be her friend. She will be missed.

Laura was my dear friend and colleague. We met through our work in technology in the Medical Library Association. We immediately bonded and devised the plan to attend the Stratford Festival in Ontario. Together, and often with friends and even with some of my children, we loved the stimulating plays. Often we would see 2-3 plays/day plus squeezing lots of shopping. It’s amazing that we did this every Sumer for more than 30 years!! I’m so sad not to be able to enjoy her great sense of humor, her love of travel and the twinkle in her eyes.

I am saddened by the news of Laura Barrett's passing, although I did not
know her as long as others on the staff, we would from time to time have conversations, when we crossed paths in the library. I enjoyed talking to her, and it
would always end in a smile. I send my deepest condolences to the family.
