Obituary of Edward Paul Gunderson

Edward Paul Gunderson, 59, of Mt. Tabor, NJ died suddenly Sunday, February 5, 2017 at his home in Mount Tabor, NJ. Born November 23, 1957 in Englewood, NJ, he was the son of Marie Gunderson and the late Edward Gunderson. A 1976 graduate of Parsippany Hills High School, he was President and owner operator of M&E Soap Company for many years. Edward was a lifelong skier, a Harley Davidson motor cycle enthusiast, a skilled billiards player and member of the APA. One of the ways he celebrated life was through his great love of music. He was in many bands and recorded a Christmas song that plays every year at his local church. He also had an amazing passion for life, the natural world and the environment we all live in. He was an extraordinary free spirit who was very generous and often put his friends and family before himself. Edwards son Ridar was his great love and joy. He dedicated himself to Ridar and shared with him his many passions and world views. Edward is survived and will be dearly missed by his son, Edward Ridar Gunderson of Morris Plains, NJ, his mother Marie Gunderson, Parsippany, NJ. brother Stephen (Maryann, Greta) of Athens, OH, sisters Jeanne Gunderson of Succasunna, NJ and Suzanne Scott (Preston, Margaux) of Morristown, NJ. Friends and relatives are invited to a memorial service on Friday, February 10th at 3pm at the United Methodist Church of Mount Tabor, 5 Simpson Ave., Tabor, NJ with Pastor Amanda Hemenetz officiating. A gathering will be held after the service at Mount Tabor C.C.
