I was so sad to learn of Fred's passing. There are too many memories to summon at the moment but i mostly will cherish how patient, intelligent, and thoughtful he always was, offering small wisdoms and life lessons to me and my siblings throughout our youth and into adulthood, plus he and the Palace family essentially taught us all to ski during formative and awkward teen years and memories of Vermont are still as fresh as snow ..... He also adored my parents, and their lifelong friendship nurtured us kids as well, down to the ritual of the Wednesday lunch with Bob in Morristown, cut too short by this year's surreal quarantine but testimony to the ongoing strength of their bond, friends to the very end. Fred got to know us as kittle kids and cared about our journeys through life, always curious to check in, whether through my parents or directly. Brilliant in his field, he was brilliant in our lives, too and his many gifts will be cherished forever. love, deb
