Rich, Sue, Michelle and Bob,
When I think of your dad what immediately comes to mind are my periodic visits which always included a tour of his box art collection at his home. There was always this moment when he would get a mischievous gleam in his eye - what followed immediately was a provocative thought or question. So we would sit down at the kitchen table in what was always an engaging and intellectually stimulating conversation yet also filled with love and warmth. The word I would use to describe those visits is joyful. And that is exactly what I feel when I think of your dad.
"There is no pain so great as the Memory of joy in present grief." Aeschylus
For the four of you and those closest to your dad I can only imagine the magnitude of your grief for I know the immense joy and love he brought to your lives. But perhaps one of his greatest legacies is the bond the four of you share. As I watched from afar as you cared for and supported your dad these last few years I have often thought about who both of your parents were to be the source of that relationship. And for your dad to keep nurturing your bond after the tragic and far to early loss of your mom is a testament to who your dad was in this world.
My deepest condolences for your loss. Much love, Susan

A candle is an apt metaphor for Mr. Largman's life-- lasting, bright, illuminating, warm, comforting, quiet, entrancing and timeless.
