Obituary of Irene L. Kane

Irene Louise Kane, 102, of Florham Park, NJ passed away peacefully, three weeks shy of her 103rd birthday. Irene was born and raised in Newark, NJ before getting a job with the Federal Government as an Administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington DC, where she lived for over 50 years. After her retirement, Irene moved to Chatham Township, NJ, where she lived for 20 years before moving to Florham Park, where she would spend 12 years living in Brighton Gardens Assisted Living. Irene was a parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison and Holy Family Church in Florham Park. She enjoyed a good game of poker and bridge with her friends and family. Irene is survived by her loving niece, Tracey Baxel Roth and her late husband, Thomas Frederick Roth, her cherished great-niece and nephews, Marnie Kane Reichenback, Timothy Baxel Roth and Stephen Frederick Roth, and her adoring great-great nephews, Wesley Thomas Reichenbach and Miller Kane Reichenbach. Irene is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Teresa (nee Amberg) Kane and her sisters, Jeanette Kane Baxel and Eleanor Kane Gittens. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 at 11 am at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ. Interment will follow to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange. Arrangements are under the care of Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, Madison.
