Obituary of Theresa L. Maietta

Theresa Lorraine Maietta (“Sis”), 80, of Morristown, NJ, passed away on Friday January 15th at her home in Morristown, NJ after a long illness. Funeral service will be held at St. Margaret’s Church on Thursday January 21st at 11:00AM with Father Hernan of St. Margaret’s officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, 61 Whippany Rd., Morristown, NJ. Theresa was born in Paterson, NJ to Daniel Scrone and Fay DiGangi Scrone on November 30, 1940. She attended high school at both St. Elizabeth and Bayley Ellard and graduated in 1960. The epitome of kindness, grace and beauty with a touch a good hearted sassiness. The unassuming homemaker, putting faith and family first, ran a tight ship and taught her family about respect for others and live by the golden rule. To stay active, Theresa enjoyed her daily walks, was an avid tennis player and golfer and also made time to travel with her friends and family. She supported a number of charities and organizations including Alzheimer’s Disease Research, American Cancer Society, and St. Margaret’s Church. Theresa was married to her late husband, Jerry Maietta, for 58 year and is survived by her Children: Kenneth, Daniel, and Stephen; Daughter-in-laws: Frances, Lesli and Flavia; Grandchildren: Jack, Francesca, Tyler, Samantha, Kyle, and Isabella; Brother Daniel Scrone and his wife Peggy Scrone and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research, 22512 Gateway Center Dr. P.O. Box 1950, Clarksburg, MD 20871-1950, or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1918, Morristown, NJ 07962-1918.
