Obituary of Santo J. Lascari
Please share a memory of Santo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Santo J. Lascari - Beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle.
On May 18th, 2021, Santo J. Lascari of Madison passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home one month before his 102nd birthday. Born in Lodi, NJ to the late Salvatore and Lena Lascari, he resided in Madison for the majority of his life.
Married for over 68 years, to his beloved wife Madeline (Romano) together they raised a wonderful family of which they were enormously proud: pre-deceased by Madeline, Santo is survived by his three children: Salvatore R. (Frances) of Sparta, NJ; Dr. Roland A. (Patricia) of Sarasota, FL; and Sandra L. of Madison, NJ. His six grandchildren Tadd J. (Deena) of East Hanover, NJ; Craig J. (Nancy Duleba) of Knoxville, TN; Rebecca M. Reynolds (Matthew) of Poquoson, Va; Matthew R. (Mary Beth Gabriel) of Morris Plains, NJ; Emily M. (Ricky Bernstein) of Kensington, MD; and Andrew W. of New Brunswick, NJ. His five great-grandchildren Jenny, Ella, and Tadd Lascari; and Grace and Liv Bernstein. Also, his brother-in-law Rev. Eugene Romano, of Chester, NJ; sister-in-laws Carol Marconi of Florham Park, NJ, and Angie Romano, of Madison, NJ. And many nieces and nephews.
A sharp dresser, who worked for Evan-Picone among other clothing manufactures for over 40 years. He was known as “the best dressed man in St. Vincent’s Martyr Church” where he was a longtime parishioner.
A blessed centenarian, he loved to travel, watch football (Go Rutgers) and raise orchids. He touched the lives of many with his unbeatable charm. An inspiration to all, he was truly one of kind! The family would also like to thank his wonderful longtime care giver Esther Zegarra.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison.
