Obituary of Francis J. McManus

Francis J. McManus, 85, of Chatham, New Jersey died peacefully with his family at his side in hospice care on June 4, 2021. Francis “Frank” was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 18, 1935. Frank and wife Irene raised their family in Madison, New Jersey from 1968 thru 2013. They resided in Chatham, New Jersey until the time of his death. Frank was an accountant for Chrysler Corporation where he retired in 1990 and subsequently was employed as the Comptroller for the Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station, New Jersey. He was a proud graduate of St. John’s University. Frank was a parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Parish in Madison, New Jersey and a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. Frank had infinite love for his wife and family. He always enjoyed travelling, the Yankees, the Giants and all things Notre Dame. Frank is survived by his cherished wife Irene, his beloved children, Brenda Brown and her husband Tom, Mary Beth McManus, Frank McManus and his wife Katie, Kerri Pizzi and her husband Jeff. He was “Pop Pop” to 12 grandchildren, Lauren Loughman and husband Michael, Tim Brown, Kate Lynn Brown, Michael Brown, Meghan Jones, Kirsty Lee and husband Keelyn, Bridget Jones, Brian Jones, William McManus, Joseph McManus, Hannah Pizzi, Amanda Pizzi. He was great grandfather to Stella Lee and Michael Thomas Loughman. Frank is pre-deceased by his brother Patrick McManus and his wife Margaret and survived by his brother George McManus and wife Carol. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Tuesday, June 8th 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Burroughs, Kohr and Dangler Funeral Home 106 Main Street, Madison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 9th at St. Vincent Martyr Church Madison. The Mass will be live streamed on St. Vincent Martyr Church website at https://svmnj.org. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to National Right to Life online at https://www.nrlc.org
