Obituary of George Scripture, Jr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George W. Scripture Junior, 60, of Rockaway, New Jersey. Beloved son of the late George W. Scripture Senior and Mary of Morris Plains, George was a Navy veteran and retired electrician. He loved spending his days with his dogs watching the sunset and sunrise, fishing, playing guitar and volunteering his time with the VFW and American Legion. He cherished his son and his 3 year old grandson who he loved to play with at the park. George also enjoyed working on projects with his sister and taking his mother to see live music. A lover of classic rock and animals of all shapes and sizes, there was no kinder friend or more sincere confidant. George was predeceased by his partner and fiancé Ann Marie DeSombre. He is survived by his mother Mary, his sister Major Heidi S. Scripture and her partner Lynn Berezny, as well as his son George W. Scripture V, his daughter-in-law Ashley and his grandson George W. Scripture VI. Beloved son, brother, father and grandfather, George was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. May he rest in eternal peace. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 9th from 5-8pm at Dangler Funeral Home in Morris Plains followed by a church service on Thursday, June 10th at 10am at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church in Cedar Knolls.
