Obituary of Harold C. Bolton, Jr.

Harold C. Bolton, Jr., 90, passed away on June 23, 2021, at Morristown Medical Center. He was born in New London, CT. and resided in Morris Plains, NJ.
He was the former owner of Bolton’s Service Station and Morris School Transportation, Morristown, NJ. He owned the business for 40 years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of St. Virgil’s Church as well as a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army from 1947 until 1957. He was a decorated Army Corporal with three Bronze Stars.
Harold is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Frances A. Bolton, and his loving daughters, Lucia Griffin and her husband, Charles, Marian Cara and her husband, Stephen, and Tara Laroux and her husband, Jeffrey, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Stephen Cara and his wife, Lindsay, Michael Cara, Daniel Cara, Charles R. Griffin, Jr., Nicole Griffin, Paul Griffin, Jeffrey Laroux, Jr., Corey Laroux and his wife Jessika, and great-grandchild, Michael Cara, Jr. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; most dearest nieces, Clare DeChiara and Lisa DeChiara, and dear nephew, Ray DeChiara. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold Bolton, Sr. and Marion Bolton, his brothers-in-law, Raymond B. DeChiara and Pasquale DeChiara, and his sisters, Ruth Bolton Holly, Edith Bolton Albert, and brother, Richard Bolton.
Harold's family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the Morristown Medical Center Palliative Care and Hospice Team.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, for a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Virgil’s Church, 250 Speedwell Ave, Morris Plains, NJ. Interment will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 11:00 am at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Harold’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, 370 7th Ave., Suite 1802, New York, NY 10001, or St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 (stjude.org/memorial).
