Obituary of Gaetano Spinella

Gaetano “Tommy” Spinella 1933 - 2021 Gaetano “Tommy” Spinella age 88, passed away on July 15, 2021. He was born to Michelangelo and Catherine Spinella and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where he met his wife, Betty. They were married for 62 years. He moved from Brooklyn to Morristown in 1959 where Tommy and Betty raised their family. He was a Morris County Sheriff’s Officer for 25 years before retiring. He was veteran of the Korean War, an avid fisherman, loved to cook and be with his family. He was preceded by his brothers Anthony and Joseph Spinella. He is survived by his devoted wife, Benedetta, their children Anthony (wife, Tammy), Joseph (wife, Regina), Jack (wife, Maxine), and Catherine, his 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be on Sunday, July 18 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 19 at 10:00am at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Blvd, Chatham, NJ 07928. Interment will be at the Holy Rood Cemetery, 61 Whippany Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960.
