Obituary of David J. Garaffa

After battling a long illness, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Dave Garaffa, 54, of Morristown, NJ on July 17, 2021 A resident of Morristown for the past 10 years, Dave lived in Ringwood and Ridgewood, New Jersey for many years prior. There was never a time that Dave did not have a computer in his hands. His passion for technology along with his love of helping others and problem solving led him to spend the majority of his career at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Computer Analyst. He was an ardent fan of the Walking Dead and a Star Wars/Star Trek enthusiast. A real "Trekkie". His hobbies included 3-D Printing, Legos, Collecting Funko Pops and building his own computer. His greatest joy was the time spent with his loving wife of 23 years, Darlene. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene, his two siblings Andrew Garaffa and Peter Skagan and his two moms, Maria-Garaffa Yerves and Alice Skagan. He will be forever missed by his many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Friends in New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Florida and Massachusetts. Visiting will be on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 10am-12pm, with a Funeral Service at 12pm, at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. (For the health and safety of their guests, while attending the Services, the family is requesting that guests please social distance and wear masks.) Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
