Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elizabeth “Betty” A. Wilford, 81, of Morristown, New Jersey, formerly of Long Valley, New Jersey, passed away October 6, 2021 in Morristown surrounded by her loving family. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Betty lived in Long Valley before she moved to Morristown 6 years ago. Betty graduated in 1957 from Wilfred Beauty Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to become a licensed Beautician. She was a retired homemaker, but held many jobs throughout her life. Her most important job was being a caring Mother and devoted Grandmother. Betty appeared on the famous American Bandstand television show, hosted by Dick Clark, in 1955. She was talented in the art of embroidery, known for her famous oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and enjoyed puzzles and Hallmark channel movies. She is survived by her loving daughters, Suzanne A. Wilford of Hazlet, New Jersey, Tonni F. von Schaumburg (née Wilford) and her husband, Daniel of Morristown, New Jersey and adoring grandchildren, Alyssa von Schaumburg, Michael Ruth, and Victoria von Schaumburg, and many cherished nieces and nephews. Betty is predeceased by her beloved husband, Clark Wilford (1986) and brother, Robert Malinowski (2000). Betty was a friend to all and a Grandmother to many. She will be deeply missed. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 3 pm to 7 pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 10 am at Assumption Church, 91 Maple Avenue, Morristown. Masks are required for all guests during visitation and Mass. Inurnment of ashes will be private to Betty’s family. Because of her love for dogs and cats, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to Saint Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, 575 Woodland Avenue, P.O. Box 159, Madison, New Jersey 07940 or online at www.sthuberts.org
