I was Joe’s art teacher at New Providence High School, (Bill Vivona) Attached is a photo of Joe and his classmates that I took. The photo was taken on the bus on the way home from our field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. I believe that in this photo, Joe was a sophomore. The trip took place around Christmas, because the Met puts up a nice tree, and the art is great too. I was always proud of my students and took great pleasure in our trips to the museums. Joe was one of those students. When we went to the Museum, we dressed up. No jeans, neat behavior. That is how I remember Joe. I am stunned; as a parent and now a grandparent, I have no words, I am at a complete loss. Please know that I will always remember Joe as you see him in this photo, an enthusiastic young man, well-liked by his friends, with many interests. May God bless you and all who grieve this loss.
