Lovey Palumbo (née Hunyak) Heminuk, of Montville, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2021. She was 101. Lovey was born and raised in Olyphant, PA and was a communicant of the Ukranian Orthodox Church. She was a Christian who believed one God watched over all people. Prior to her marriage Lovey was employed as a nanny and as a print model for local clothing stores. She also worked as an inspector on various assembly lines created for women during patriotic participation in WWII support efforts. In later years she was employed briefly by Chubb Insurance Company. In 1945 Lovey married her true love, Harry Palumbo, who predeceased her in 1968. Together they raised four children in Vailsburg and Maplewood, NJ. Lovey was predeceased also by her parents Stephen and Effie Hunyak; five siblings; second husband Michael Heminuk, and her beloved daughter-in-law Lizabeth Palumbo. Lovey is survived by sons Stephen (Barbara), Harry, and Joseph (JoAnn) Palumbo; daughter Suzanne (Gary) Jablonski. She leaves eight grandchildren, Christina (Scott)Parente; Donna (Jason) Silfies; Robert Palumbo, Scott (Brieane) Palumbo, Michael (Kathleen) Palumbo, Mark (Tricia) Palumbo; Laura Palumbo and Nicole Jablonski. Eight great-grandchildren, Emily, Eric, Joseph, Elizabeth, William, Claire, Jimmy and Parker Louise; her nieces Stacia Plisko and Nadia Minetti. Lovey also leaves her cherished pup Spanky. Lovey’s perpetual goal in life was her love and devotion to family and family unity. She achieved both many times over and will be dearly missed. Private family visitation under direction of Dangler Funeral Home with gravesite services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
