Obituary of Frank P. Di Primo, Jr.
Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Frank Paul Di Primo, Jr., 82, passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on the morning of February 1, 2022, due to COVID-19.
Born in Morristown, New Jersey on November 15, 1939, Frank was the fifth and youngest child of Francis Paul Di Primo, Sr. and his wife Nicholine Di Primo.
Frank graduated from Morristown High School in 1958. Three years later, in 1961, he joined the United States Army, and served for two years, reaching the rank of Specialist, Second Class.
Upon being discharged from the Army in 1963, Frank began his career at Jersey Central Power & Light in Morristown. He began as an Engineering Assistant, before becoming a supervisor overseeing the development and construction of the power substations throughout the town.
It was around this time that Frank got to know Annette Alise, and they quickly became engaged and married. They moved to their house in Mendham, where they lovingly raised their two children.
At least once or twice per week, Frank would go trout fishing with his brothers, his son, and later his grandson at Round Valley Reservoir, and occasionally take vacations to locations such as Lake Ontario to catch salmon. He would also enjoy golfing at Flanders Valley Golf Course, where he taught both his son and grandson to play. Additionally, he was a member of the Mendham Pastime Club, and would often take part in the various services and events they offered throughout the Mendham community.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife Annette (Alise) Di Primo, who passed away in 2004, as well as his daughter, Alise M. Hess, who passed on January 10, 2022. He was also preceded by his brother, Dominic, and his sister, Anna Furbeck.
Frank is survived by his son, Frank Paul DiPrimo III, his daughter-in-law Melissa DiPrimo, and his grandson, James Francis DiPrimo. He is also survived by his sister, Lucille Mooney, and her husband Robert Mooney, as well as his brother Michael DiPrimo, and his wife, Elizabeth DiPrimo.
Family and friends are invited to gather for funeral and burial services at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Holy Rood Cemetery, 61 Whippany Rd., Morristown, NJ 07960.
