Joseph R. Costens, 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born in Irvington, New Jersey and was a graduate of Rutgers University. In 1958 he married his life-long partner, Florence Agacinski. He was called up to serve in the U. S. Army and he looked back on his service with pride. Afterwards, he accepted a job with Beneficial Finance Corporation as a Senior Manager of the Morristown office. After retirement he spent many happy days playing golf with friends, and caring for his garden with his daughter Jo Ann. He treasured his family and friends. He leaves behind to grieve him his wife of 64 years, Florence, his daughter, Jo Ann Costens Campbell, his nephew Donald Gunthner and the many friends and relatives who were so dear to him and showed him extraordinary help and care in his last days. Preceding him in death were his father, Joseph, his mother, Marie, his sister, Alice, his niece, Vicki and his dear daughter, Pamela Costens Bowman. A viewing will be held at the Dangler Funeral Home in Morris Plains on February 7th from 5 pm to 8 pm. (*Guests are respectfully requested to wear masks while indoors.)
