Obituary of Giorgio Chiappa

Giorgio Chiappa, 84, passed away on February 14, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Caccamo, Italy, to the late Saverio and Giovanna (Cecala) Chiappa, Giorgio lived in the United States for 53 years and made his home in Morristown, NJ. Giorgio is survived by his loving wife, Concetta Chiappa; and his devoted daughters, Giovanna Catizone, and her husband, Vincent, of Randolph, and Nicasia DeLeon, and her husband, Anthony, of Newton. He is also survived by his sister Salvatrice Polizzi; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Isabella DeLeon, Sebastian DeLeon, Alessandra Cheretis, and Vincent Catizone. He is predeceased by sister, Giovanna Mannina. Friends and family are welcome to gather on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 8:00am-9:30am at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison. A Funeral Mass for Giorgio will be held immediately following at 10:00am at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover. As an expression of sympathy, our family has designated the Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center for memorial contributions. Although beautiful and symbolic, we ask that you refrain from sending flowers, as arrangements are not allowed in the mausoleum.
