Obituary of Joseph H. Gorczyca

Joseph "Joe" Henry Gorczyca, 81, of Morris Township, NJ, passed away April 28, 2022 at CareOne Rehabilitation in Whippany, NJ.  

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Joe resided in Metuchen, NJ for 10 years and then moved to Morris Township, where he has lived for the past 45 years. Joe attended and graduated from St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark, NJ and Villanova University in Villanova, PA, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Accounting degree in 1963. Joe proudly served in the United States Army as a Private from 1963 to 1965 during the Vietnam War. Before his retirement, Joe was an Accountant with GPU (General Public Utilities), currently known as JCP&L, for 35 years.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Susan Gorczyca, and devoted sons, Michael Gorczyca and Adam Gorczyca. He is also survived by his caring sister, Christine Friedberg and her husband, Ronald Friedberg, and cherished nephew and niece, Jason Friedberg and Caitlin Atkinson.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 2 pm to 4 pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains.
